Position: President
Experience:
Russ founded Peak Security in 2009, but started his career as an Arabic linguist with the United States Air Force (USAF). Upon leaving the USAF, Russ became a Federal contractor working in computer labs in the Research and Engineering area of the NSA. He left that position to work for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), where he concentrated on the development of DoD information security tools, the DISA STIGS, and technical evaluation of DoD networks worldwide. Russ eventually left to become the Co-Founder, CEO and President of Security Horizon, a commercial and contractor security company. The company prospered, but Russ decided to sell his ownership in the company after 6 years to pursue more technical security ventures as a penetration tester for the Department of Energy (DOE). He is the author and/or editor of 11 books on information security, and has been one of the senior organizers of the Defcon hacker conference for 13 years. For the last 6 years he has been the Professor of Network Security for the University of Advancing Technology (UAT) out of Tempe, Arizona, where he provides direction for the Network Security programs and teaches both undergraduate and graduate level network security courseware. Russ is a world renowned security expert who has spoken and taught at security conferences around the world, including Tokyo, Singapore, Amsterdam, Sao Paulo, and dozens of cities around the United States. He has an Associate Degree of Science in Applied Communications Technology from the USAF, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from the University of Maryland, a Masters Degree of Science in Computer Management Systems from the University of Maryland, and an Honorary Doctorate of Science in Applied Computer Technology from the University of Advancing Technology.

Position: Vice President of Research & Development
Experience:
Mark is a professional Security Engineer with over 18 years of experience in the areas of Information Technology, Rapid Development Lifecycle, Long Term Development Lifecycle, Computer Security, and Research/Development Innovation. He is a partner in Peak Security Inc (www.peaksec.com) where he serves as a Principle Security Consultant and Vice President of Research and Development. Mark has developed cutting edge technology for The Department of Energy, The Department of Defense, and many corporate clients. Much of the technology Mark has developed is one-of-a-kind innovative solutions to problems which were previously considered unsolvable, or impossible. He is fluent in many computer programming languages, and has proven that he can beat hard deadlines and deliver top quality solutions. Mark has co-authored Network Auditing with Nessus (second edition), and has published Department internal white-papers for US DOE and other corporate clients.


Position: Vice President of Operations
Experience:
Greg is an experienced security consultant with over 24 years of information technology and security experience. He is a partner in Peak Security Inc (www.peaksec.com) where he serves as a Principal Security Consultant and the Vice President of Business Operations. He is a United States Air Force Veteran and has served in military and contract support for the National Security Agency, Defense Information Systems Agency, Air Force Space Command, and National Aeronautical and Space Administration supporting world-wide security efforts. Greg has planned and managed Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRT), Computer Forensics and INFOSEC training capabilities. He has worked with security for Industrial Control Systems and SCADA system. He has served in various information security positions throughout his career to include: Director, Cyber Crime Response; INFOSEC Program Manager; Principal Security Consultant; and Chief Engineer. Greg has been published in multiple periodicals to include “The Security Journal” and “The International Journal on Cyber Crime”. He has co-authored four (4) books and has been a technical speaker on an International basis. Greg is a network security instructor for the University of Advancing Technology (UAT) and a student thesis/dissertation advisor for UAT and Colorado Technical University.

Position: Vice President of Global Services
Experience:
Paul Criscuolo (CISSP) has been involved in the Computer Security Industry for over 15 years, with the rare distinction of having expert experience in both the defensive and offensive aspects of INFOSEC. Paul has consulted as a security expert with Fortune 500 companies, assisting in incident response and recovery, involving the interaction with the FBI and Incident Response programs worldwide. Paul created procedures and wrote a number of intrusion detection tools that have resulted in technology licenses from the DOE, and created technology startups with those licenses. Paul has presented at a number of conferences, authored books and papers, both classified and unclassified in nature, and instructed training seminars about network security, incident response, and forensics.
